Meet our Infants Teacher
Ms. Melisa

Hello! I’m Ms. Melisa.

Cypresswood Montessori is delighted to introduce Ms. Melisa, our devoted lead teacher for the Infants Montessori Classroom. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Ms. Melisa is a proud wife, mother of two, and grandmother. Her Christian faith and commitment to serving her church community are central to her life, reflecting her deep sense of compassion and care—qualities she brings into her teaching every day.

Ms. Melisa embodies the essential qualities of a Montessori guide for infants aged 6 weeks to 12 months. With over 20 years of experience in childcare, she has a profound understanding of the unique needs of infants during this crucial stage of development. Her approach is characterized by patience, warmth, and a deep respect for each child’s individuality.

Inspired by her mother, a special education teacher, Ms. Melisa has always had a natural inclination toward caring for and nurturing children. Ms. Melisa’s Teaching Philosophy:

"Hello, I am Ms. Melisa. Since I was little, I have loved taking care of children. My mother was a special education teacher, and she instilled in me the love of caring and teaching. I love being part of a child's growth and education."

She is dedicated to fostering an environment where infants feel secure, valued, and encouraged to explore at their own pace. Her nurturing presence helps build strong, trusting relationships with each child, laying the foundation for their emotional and cognitive development.

Experience and Background:

Ms. Melisa graduated from the Institute of Banking and Commerce in Puerto Rico, but her true calling has always been working with children. Over the past two decades, she has honed her skills in childcare, bringing a wealth of experience to her role as a lead teacher in our Infants Montessori Classroom.

Beyond the Classroom:

When she’s not caring for the little ones, Ms. Melisa dedicates her time to her church, where she serves as a praise dancer and teacher. She also enjoys reading, traveling, listening to music, and spending quality time with her family. Her diverse interests and rich life experiences enrich her teaching, allowing her to connect with children and families on a deeper level.
